Lilo and Stitch

(Introduction）
Lilo and Stitch is a 2002 Disney Animation film. It was released by Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Distribution. The original voice of Stitch is by Chris Sander, is an American film actor and voice actor. He also served as a storyboard artist, artistic director, and character designer on Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Mulan. The Japanese voice of Stitch is by Koichi Yamadera, who is a famous voice actor. Yamadera often appears in Disney animations as a voice actor. This film was nominated for the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, but then the Japanese anime Spirited away written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki won the award.
(Story）
One day, a crazy alien scientist named Mr. Jumba Jookida made Number 626. Number 626 looked cute blue koala, but he was dangerous creature. That’s why Mr. Jumba was arrested, and 626 was nearly broken by other aliens, but he managed to escape and went to the earth. The place it arrived was Hawaii. The Grand Councilwoman, was the leader of the fictional United Galactic, asked Jumba and Agent Pleakley to chase after him. They also went to the earth.
Lilo was a little girl who lives with her sister Nani in Hawaii. They did not have parents because their parents died in a car accident. Lilo went to a dance school, but there she often had a run-in with other girls. That’s why Lilo did not have any friends, so she always felt alone. Nani was her older sister and took care of Lilo, but she did not have any job and keep their living condition good, so social worker Cobra Bubbles visited their house. He told Nani that he would take Lilo into a foster care if she couldn't improve her problems within 3 days. After that, Lilo wanted to have a nice friend, so they went to an animal shelter to get a dog. At the same time, 626 was sent to the shelter. That’s why Lilo met him there and decided to get him. Nani once refused to buy him, but Lilo got to like him very much. She finally allowed her to have him. They bought him for 2 dollars. Lilo named 626 “Stitch”. Lilo liked him very much. She was also a big fan of Elvis Presley, so she sometimes made Stitch mimic Elvis. She took Stitch to a Nani’s workplace where Nani’s boyfriend, David worked as a fire performer. However, Stitch was not a good boy, very violent and tried to break many things in their house. Because of it, Nani got angry with him and tried to return him to the shelter. However, Lilo said Nani that he was Ohana. Ohana means family in Hawaiian. Nani heard that word and stopped to do it.
The next day, David took them to a beach. They were enjoying surfing there. When they did surfing, Jumba and Pleakly watched Stitch. They tried to capture Stitch from underwater. Because of it, Stitch and Lilo drowned. David managed to help them, but Nani thought that Stitch attacked Lilo. Accidentally, Cobra watched that happening and told Nani that they couldn’t be together. That night, Lilo and Nani stayed on a hammock together. Stitch felt a pang of guilt and decided to leave and hide in the woods.
On the other hand, Jumba and Pleakley felt heat that they could not catch him quickly. The Grand Councilwoman asked Captain Gantu, a shark-like alien, to capture Stitch. The next morning, Jumba found and tried to catch Stitch in the woods. Stitch wanted to stay with Lilo and Nani. Stitch ran from him and went back to their house. There he met Lilo, but Jumba also came there. While Stitch and Jumba began to fight, Lilo called Cobra for help. Before their house was broken, Pleakley took Lilo out their house.
Just after this tragedy, Nani came back to home, but there was Cobra. Nani and Cobra began to argue about it and then Lilo went to the woods and met Stitch. Unfortunately, Lilo and Stitch were caught by Grantu. Stitch was able to escape from him, but Lilo was removed with Grantu’s space ship. Nani chased Grantu with Jumba’s spaceship. At last, they could rescue Lilo from Grantu.
Finally, the Grand Councilwoman arrived to arrest Stitch, but she allowed him to stay with Lilo. She decided the place where Stitch was exiled was earth. She realized Lilo and Nani loved Stitch, and Stitch also loved them. Jumba and Pleakley also stayed on earth to help Nani, Lilo and Stitch. Then Cobra turned to be a former member of CIA and he promised her to help them. That’s why Stitch could be Lilo’s family at last.

I like Disney movies, especially princess stories like Beauty and the Beast and The little mermaid. I was surprised that the voice actor of Stitch had made some of my favorite Disney animations. However, I had known what Stitch is before I watched the film. I did not have interest in this story, but I realized that it was a good story after watching it and got to like this story. I expected that story was boring, but it was funny story to me. I can enjoy watching that story. Sometimes Lilo is a not good girl to Nani, but she loves her very much. If I have Stitch, I do not know whether I can keep him or not. Stitch is really cute, but his behavior is very bad. My favorite scene was that Stitch spat two pieces of cake. However, if he exists, I want to have him for only 3 days. I thought there were few musical parts in this film. However, I was happy that I could listen the song “Aloha Oe”. Since I have watched this movie, I long for Hawaii. If I have a chance, I want to travel to Hawaii someday. In Japan, the new Disney film” Enchanted” will open soon. I want to see this movie, too. I cannot wait to watch this movie. Anyway, I like the story, so I will recommend many people to watch Lilo and Stitch. I want to see Lilo and Stitch 2, too. If I have free time, I will watch it!

Enchanted Trailer

Enchanted will open in Japan soon!! This is a 2007 Disney film. When I was in America, Yumi gave me some information about this film. I was dying to see it since I had heard it. I am a big fan of Disney princess stories like Beauty and the Beast and so on. Especially, Squirrel is main animal of this film. I want to see it quickly!! Though I said so, I will not go to theater to see it. I will watch it with DVD or Video!!

School of Rock

(Introduction)
The king of rock is a 2003 comedy film. It was 109 minutes. It was written by Mike White and directed by Richard Linklater. The main character Dewey Finn was stared by Jack Black. Mike White, who was the writer of this film, also appeared as Ned Schneebly in this film. The film has been nominated for several awards. Thank for this film, Black won an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance.
(Story)
Dewey Finn was a hard rock singer and guitarist. One day, he was fired by his band,” No Vacancy”. His performance was too hard and his action was selfish, therefore his members disliked him. Instead of him, they added a new member.
He was also blamed that he did not pay rent by his flat mate, Ned Schneebly. Ned and his girlfriend always suggested to him that he should work to get money. Ned had also been a rock musician like Dewey, but left his band and began to work as a substitute teacher.
One day, when Ned was absence, Dewey got a call from the principal of Horance Green Elementary. It was a highly prestigious preparatory school and she said that she wanted Ned to work there as a substitute teacher. Then Dewey pretended to be Ned and got job as a substitute teacher for the fifth grade class at that school. Though he became a teacher, he did not any experiences as a teacher.
Of course, he could not teach subjects like math, history and something like that. He gave the student a lots free time instead of classes, but the students were very earnest and got angry with him. When they had music class, he realized their talents of music. They could play the instrument well. That’s why he began to teach them about rock music and made new band as a special project. He chose some students for the band players or singers. Surely, they all could not play the instrument and sing. He gave his all students each role. For example, he left them to be managers and make costumes, a band’s name and so on. He thought students should make their band by themselves. Students had big interest in that project. Some practiced hard for their credits and some just enjoyed it. They began to practice rock music hard and secretly, and sometimes got out of the school. If the project was discovered by other teachers, they had to stop it. He always pretended to lesson another subjects with his students. Their homework was to listen rock music and learn something from them. Students decided to name their band “School of rock” and wear school uniform as their costume. One of student played his original song in front of Dewey. He took on his song as their main song. Their motivation became bigger day by day.
One day, he tried to make them enter the Battle of the Bands. They were late for the entry. They wanted to enter the Battle anyway, so the class president, Summer got an idea. It was that students pretended to be severe sick children. They got the battle manager’s sympathy. That’s why they could entry the Battle.
However, Ned realized that Dewey worked at the school as Ned Schneebly. He was exposed his secret to the principal and children’s parents. After that, he was thrown out of the school. Some students were disappointed at him, but some wanted to keep the rock band and enter the Battle of the Band with him.
They called him and they went to the hall for the Battle of the Band together. The principal and their parents also went there. As soon as they arrived, School of rock’s stage stared. They played “School of Rock”. Audiences including the principal and the parents were crazy about their playing. They played two songs there. Finally, they missed the win because of Dewey’s old member. Audiences were unhappy with the judge, so they kept calling “ School of rock”.
After that, Dewey and Ned kept “School of rock” at their flat. The student went there to learn rock, and kept learning rock music.

To tell the truth, I do not like this movie so much because this story is really simple. I can guess the story from the title. This film was similar to Sister act 2 to me. Though it is 109 minutes’ movie, but I felt it was so long movie. However, I liked Summer Hathaway starring Miranda Cosgrove the best of all characters in this film. I got to like her action. When I watch foreign movies, I watch them in Japanese version, but this time I tried to watch it in English version. I could learn many words from it. I realized that watching movies in English enables me to improve my English listening skill. Next time I watch movies, I will try to watch them in English version.

Mrs. Doubtfire

<Introduction>
Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 comedy movie directed by Chris Columbus. This movie won an Academy Award as best make up in 1993. Robin Williams played Daniel Hilland and Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire. Sally Field played his wife Miranda Hillard. Pierce Brosnan played Stuart Dunmeyer.
<Story>
Daniel was a father who loved his children. One day, he lost his job and held a son’s birthday part at home. His wife Miranda got shocked at his actions and asked him to separate. That’s why they got divorced and Miranda got parental authority. Daniel did not want to go away from his children, but he got little chance to see them. It was only one day a week that he could see his children.
He tried to think the way to meet them. His idea was to become a housekeeper. He called his wife many time disguising his voice. He went to his gay brother Frank to become an old woman. He succeeded to work at his old house as Euphegenia Doubtfire from England. Firstly, his family did not notice who Mrs. Doubtfire was. His children, especially his older daughter Lydia and son Chris did not like Mrs. Doutfire. Milland got liked Mrs.Doubtfire, but she was surprised that Mrs. Doubtfire knew about her house things well. When he as Mrs. Doubtfire was in the house, he met Stuart Dunmeyer who had been Miranda’s boyfriend. Miranda and Stuart happened to meet again at their works. Stuart was rich and handsome, so Daniel did not feel good when he saw Stuart. He wanted him to leave from Miranda. Daniel cared of his children well as Mrs. Doubtfire.
However, one day, when he went to bathroom, he was come out who he was guy by Chris. Chris and Lydia got angry with him, but when they realized that he was their father, they became happy. Daniel asked them to keep his secret. Stuart and Miranda got familiar day by day, so Daniel fretted. Stuart invited Miranda, her children and Mrs. Doubtfire a restaurant to celebrate Miranda’s birthday. Accidentally, Daniel had appointment with his new business boss at the same time and same restaurant. He could not cancel either of them. He decided to ply between Stuart and his family and his boss.
He was Mrs. Doubtfire in front of Stuart, but he was Daniel in front of his boss. That’s why he had to change his clothes in the bathroom over and over again. Stuart was allergic to cayenne pepper, so he ordered his dish without it. Daniel hated him so much because he approached Miranda. Daniel invaded the restaurant kitchen and added cayenne pepper to Stuart’s dish. When he ate something like shrimp, he choked. Daniel felt guilty and began to perform abdominal thrust, so Stuart managed to survive the accident. However, when Daniel helped Stuart as Mrs. Doubtfire, his secret was revealed. Miranda got known that Mrs. Doubtfire was Daniel. Later, Daniel as Mrs. Doubtfire became a star in a new children’s TV show. Miranda and the children missed Daniel again when they saw his program. Finally, Miranda allowed Daniel to spend much time the children.
<Impresstion>
Mrs. Doubtfire is my most favorite American film. I think that Mrs. Doubtfire is masterpiece. I have seen this movie so many times since I was young. When I typed this movie review, I did not have to watch that movie again. It was easy to summarize this story. I like this movie very much, so my review is long. The reason why I like this movie is that the lifestyle is just my ideal American lifestyle. They lived a big house and enjoyed party greatly. Speaking of this story, if I were his wife, I want to divorce him. I want to remarry Stuart. He was a good father for children, but he got lost his job and deceived people. However, if I were his child, I want to live with him. He is very kind and funny. My favorite scene is Stuart ate something like shrimp at the restaurant. The dish he ordered looks tasty. Mrs. Doubtfire is an inconceivable story, but it will last as my most favorite movie of all.

Romeo and Juliet

William Shakespeare’s Romeo ＋ Juliet is romance and tragedy movie. It was directed by Baz Luhrman in 1996. Leonard DiCaprio played Romeo and Claire Danes played Juliet. This Romeo and Juliet is a modernization of the original one. The original Romeo and Juliet is written by William Shakespeare. This movie won some awards. For example, at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1997, Leonardo DiCaprio won the Silver Best Award for Best Actor and director Baz Luhrman won the Alfred Bauer Award. Thank for this movie, many actors were nominated for movie awards. I tell about this story.
Romeo’s family Montagues and Juliet’s family Capulets were mutual enemies.
One day, Juliet’s father gave a party at his house. The Montagues were not invited, but Romeo stole into the party. There they met and fell in love each other. However, their families hated each other, so they shouldn’t make love. After that party, they decided to marry.
The very next day, they could marry. They became real couple, but the problem happened. Romeo’s friend was killed by Juliet’s cousin Tybalt, so Romeo killed Tybalt. That is why Romeo had to leave Juliet. Before his leaving, Romeo spent all night with Juliet. They slept together and he went far away. Juliet father did not know his daughter’s marriage, so he had Juliet marry to Paris who was a rich man. She did not want to marry him, so she went to Friar Laurence who was Romeo’s friend and helped their marriage.
He told her that she should drink a special poison before her marriage. Because of that poison, she became in suspended animation. Many people thought she died and held her funeral. Romeo heard about her death before he knew their plan. He bought a poison, which could kill him and went to see Juliet. He kissed her a lot. When she woke up, he drank that poison. He died in front of her slowly. There was a gun near her. She also killed herself with gun. The families were sad and decided not to fight again.
I have seen this movie for a few times, so I know about the story a little. I think it is nice story, but it is too fantastic. Romeo and Juliet are too early to fall in love. I sometimes think that they can make love easily, but separate easily, too. Considering the stage of this movie is modern, their words are strange. Sometimes I can’t understand their words. Those words fit drama, but doesn’t movie. Speaking of DiCaprio, I am not a big fan of him, but I have seen his several movies. I think that he looks cool in this movie and Taitanic. Anyway, I only know this modern version Romeo and Juliet, so I want to have a chance to see the original version Romeo and Juliet.

Movie Review 2

Kill Bill

Kill Bill is a violent movie. Quentin Tarantino made it in 2003. This movie became popular among the world and was nominated at the Golden Globe Awards.Uma Thurman plays The Bride who is a main character. Her rival O-Ren Ishii is played by Lucy Liu . The main stage of this movie is Japan, and in this movie some famous Japanese actors appear like Shinichi Chiba, Chiaki Kuriyama and so on. That is why we can listen lots Japanese words. I summarize this movie.
When the Bride had her wedding, the killer Bill and his group killed her husband, baby and attendance. She manages to survive, but she goes into a coma. Four years later, she comes out of a coma and then she decides to revenge herself on her enemies. She was sold as a hooker by Buck at the hospital during her coma. When she wakes up, she kills that guy.
Firstly, the Bride visits her friend who betrays her. They begin to fight in the kitchen and then the Bride kills her friend.
Next she goes to Okinawa to get a good Katana from Hattori Hanzo. He pretends to be a sushi chef in front of her firstly. She explains him about her mission and then he forges for her the best sword he has ever created.
After she gets his sword, she goes to one Japanese building to kill Bill’s group. There she fights with O-Ren Ishii, Go-Go Yubari, Sofie Fatale, Jonny Mo and the Crazy 88. They try to attack the Bride with many weapons continuous.
Finally, she defeats them all by herself. However, she does not kill Bill, so her mission will continue.
This movie is too violent for me to watch neatly. I also had difficulty in understanding this story. There were lots violent scenes in this movie and they made me mad. Whenever I saw those scenes, I often had to close my eyes. I seldom watch violent movies like this, so I was not used to watching this movie. I thought that a foreign director made this movie again. In this movie Japanese culture was described funny and strange. However, I was able to know many actors and actress from this movie. Before I watched this movie, I wondered why Lucy Liu was a boss of Japanese gang though she could not speak Japanese well. I gradually did not care of it and liked her as I watched this movie. When I listened her Japanese words, I could enjoy listening them. I also liked Chiaki Kuriyama in this movie. Surely, I do not like violent movies, but if I have a chance, I will try to watch Kill Bill 2.

Movie Review 1

Toy Story

Toy Story is one of Disney movies. It was made in 1995. The main characters are Woody and Buzz lightyear, which are toys. Andy is a boy and owner of them. Woody is the best toy of all and Andy would often play with Woody before Buzz comes to his house. Woody has a lot of friends like Mr. Potato Head, Rex, Slinky Dog and Ham.
It is Andy’s birthday that Buzz comes to his house. Woody is the leader of Andy’s toys. However, Buzz has a lot of accessories than Woody. Andy also begins to play with Buzz, so Woody feels jealous. Buzz does not think he is a just toy and believes himself to be real hero.
Sid who is a bad boy lives next door to Andy. Many toys are afraid of him because he breaks toys for fun. One day Woody and Buzz begin to fight and they fall from Andy’s house. Unfortunately, Sid caught them. Woody hates Buzz, but he tries to help Buzz from Sid.
When Woody is in Sid’s room, he meets a lot of broken and converted toys. Buzz also realizes himself to be a toy then. Sid plans to break Buzz with dynamite, so Woody tries to help him with Buzz’s poor toys. They can threaten Sid by themselves and help Buzz from Sid. At last they can go back to Andy’s. They begin to live his new house well together.
I have been big fan of Disney since I was a pupil. I especially like princess stories like Beauty and the beast, but I also like this story very much and have seen it some times. This story is very good for both children and adults. Not only children but also adults can enjoy watching this movie. We can think toy’s feeling. I think some people realize we should treasure our toys. My favorite scene is that Woody and Buzz work together to solve the problem. They look so cool. At first, Woody and Buzz are rival, but later become good friends. In original Tom Hanks is voice actor of Woody and Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear. In Japanese version, famous Japanese actors also act main characters. I think it is one of this movie’s charms. The reason why I like Disney movies is that I like Disney’s songs. I also like this main song” You’ve got a friend in me”. This song gives me power and makes me relax. I also have seen Toy Story 2, but I want to see another sequel of Toy Story.
